About EUROPA - Europa 70

The 2026 Isle of Man stamp issue 70 Years of EUROPA celebrates two major milestones in European and Manx philatelic history: the 70th anniversary of EUROPA stamps and the 50th anniversary of Isle of Man participation in the programme. Since its introduction in 1956, EUROPA has become one of the most recognisable collaborative stamp initiatives in the world, symbolising unity, cultural exchange and shared European identity through philately.

This commemorative issue features five stamps, including the central EUROPA design for 2026, which is shared across participating postal administrations. The Isle of Man interpretation brings together historic issues and contemporary design, reflecting five decades of contribution to the EUROPA programme since the Island’s first issue in 1976. The featured designs highlight notable Manx subjects from previous EUROPA themes, showcasing the Isle of Man’s cultural heritage, architectural landmarks and natural beauty within a wider European narrative.

The issue brings together the work of multiple artists across the decades, including the original 1976 Laxey Jug stamp and later celebrated designs such as Ballaglass Glen Cottage and Castletown. Collectors are invited to explore the evolution of Isle of Man EUROPA issues through this anniversary release, which stands as a tribute to 70 years of European postal cooperation.
