EUROPA - 70 Years of Europa Stamps
The stamp is an issue in the PostEurop Europa stamp series, the 2026 theme of which is the 70th anniversary of Europa stamps.
This motif won the design competition organised by PostEurop among its members on the theme “70th Anniversary of the EUROPA Stamp: United in …”. The entry was submitted by Posti Finland and designed by Finnish artist Klaus Welp
Europa Stamp I
The stamp combines abstract and symbolic elements. The diagonal line represents a stamp’s perforation and the shared work of Europe’s postal services over seven decades. The colour composition reflects the flags of the European countries and symbolises the sense of unity among the member states.
Europa Stamp II
The illustrator Tzenko Stoyanov describes his stamp as follows: “The starting point was to portray diversity as a unifying force. I chose to illustrate different shapes and colours coming together to form a harmonious unit, much like the way life on Earth emerged through the fusion of different elements, creating the miracle of life.”
The Europa denomination of the stamp indicates a specific postage value when used as postage on a card or letter. The value corresponds to the current postage for a shipment weighing up to 20 grams, sent by Priority from Åland to a Nordic or European country.
