Olle Stromberg’s passion for photography laid the foundations of one of Europe’s largest collections of photographic technology. Åland Post marks the 25th anniversary of the Åland Photography Museum with a miniature sheet designed by renowned stamp artist Martin Mörck.

Olle Stromberg’s collection of photographic technology forms the foundation of Åland Photography Museum. He began the collection already in the 1950s, and together with his wife Benita, he opened the museum on 9 June 2001.

Today, the museum holds more than 16,000 objects. Visitors can explore the history of photography from the pioneers of the 1830s to today’s digital techniques, ranging from cameras and darkroom equipment to film projectors and an old photo shop, a setting that also appears on the miniature sheet.
