16th April: Queen Magrethe II-75 Years

It is with great honour that POST Greenland presents a large, commemorative stamp which was issued on 16th April on the occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s 75 th birthday. The portrait photograph of Her Majesty wearing Greenlandic national costume was taken by the court photographer Steen Brogaard. The session took place in the royal apartments at Amalienborg Palace.

13th May: Europa, Aviation V, Definitive series and Sepac

The EUROPA series in 2015 will be issued with the theme ”Old toys”. The artist Bolatta Silis-Høegh has created both designs for POST Greenland’s contribution to the series. As is our tradition, the Greenlandic EUROPA-stamps will be issued in a complete sheet, mini sheets and in a self-adhesive stamp booklet.

A new series of three stamps “Greenlandic Aviation” will be issued on the same day. Once again the aviation designs have been created by the legendary engraver Martin Morck.

The definitive stamps with the portrait of our queen is drawn and engraved by Martin Mörck after a photo by Steen Brogaard.

The Sepac-stamp from POST Greenland depicts a drawing taken by artist Julie Edel Hardenberg. The joint Sepac-theme in 2014 is “Gaypride”.
