Designed by Steve Nichols and refined by Gordon Murray, the McLaren MP4/4 is an absolute icon of performance, technical simplicity and sporting dominance. Introduced in 1988 and powered by a powerful and reliable Honda V6 turbo engine, it featured a very low chassis and extremely efficient aerodynamics. Driven by Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost, it won 15 of the 16 Grands Prix of the 1988 season, securing both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ titles.
